Push up!!!!

Well boys and girls. Now that we know P.J.'s story (far too much of it actually), let's see how everyone else is doing.

I've finished week three on level three. Ready to start week four. This plan is working. Check out my pipes!

PUSH UP update:

I've now gotten kind of used to having my breasts hurt all day. Weird.

I had started at week 3 level three, after the end of week 4 I was not able to finish the last two of the set of five, without breaking for five seconds on the second last set and breaking 3 times on the last set to the end.

Strategy change: I am stepping back to day 2 of week 4, level three, and will keep performing this particular set until I can complete it in a non-stop fashion per set.

Knowing my fondliness for the upper body of the female gender, my wife is concerned I'm going to start touching myself. ( She said she might start looking for a bra for me)! I told her I'm planning on begin able to rub her in all the right ways soon, in about 4 more weeks actually.

Right now just DONT TOUCH them honey!

Yours in pain

Peter

Happy Holidays Nacho Fans

The Nacho Average Triathlon Team would like to thank everyone for a great year. It was a successful and fun year of training and racing. Some of the highlites were:

Week 3 push up challenge

Just completed the third week, third level of the 100 push up plan. OMG that was hard. Barley eeeked out the last rep on set five. I then did 5 more on my knees before my arms gave out. Onward I go. I will start week four on Monday.

How is everybody else coming along??

I've finished week 2- level 3. Ready to do the next test.

starting week 4, set 1 level 3; finished it off.

Barely finished the 4th set. After the one minute wait was supposed to do 32 minimum. Did 17, had to stop and count to ten, then 8 more; stopped for ten seconds then did a final 7 and just about sharted on the last push up!

If you can't do the last set non- stop what does this mean.
I think there is a day of reckoning coming soon!

Keep this up and woman will be asking me to breast feed for them!

week four

Man, the sets in week four are kicking me in the butt. It was all I could do to get the min on the last set.

anyway day one done.

100 push ups?, for those who like to eat rug!

I'm in. Did 35 pushups to start the trial. Then started with week 3, level 3. My scrotum was velcroed to the carpet for the last set I swear.

Hey Dave you may just be able to get rid of your man tits.

Meaghan and Christopher are in too!

100 Pushup Challenge Check-In

For those that are taking part in the 100 pushup challenge. Check in here, with the level and how it's going.

I managed to squeak out 15 pushups (good form). Which puts me at level 3?

I'm already sore.

100 Push Up Challenge

I have decided to follow the 100 push-up challenge that is outlined at http://hundredpushups.com/

I thought it might be a challenge to try the 100 push up plan this winter.

How many push-ups can you do? Well, right now I can’t do 100, but I plan on trying!

One Hundred Pushups is a site that outlines a six-week training program that claims to have you doing one hundred pushups straight after you’re done. That’s right… a hundred. That’s a lot of freaking push ups!

It all begins with an initial test that calibrates the six week training regimen and each week requires three days of training, which consists strictly of pushups. That’s right, all you do is more and more pushups. After the first two weeks, you take another calibration test similar to the initial test and continue onward. After week four, you take yet another test.

My thought was to get some motivated Nachos to accept the same challenge. We all start at roughly the same time frame(Beginning of December). Then after 6 weeks (2nd or 3rd week in January) we all gather at my place for a final test so to speak. After pushing on the floor there would be customary nacho’s and the drink of your choice.

So how about it? Any takers? It’s a great way to stay in shape.

DR. JONES - NACHO CELEBRITY

This weekend our very own Nacho Celebrity - Dr. Peter Jones, made an appearance on CTV's W5 news program. He was helping with the repair of a black bear's broken leg for the Aspen Valley Wildlife Sanctuary in Rosseau.
He should have worn his Nacho shirt for the episode!

It's a great way to stay in shape

We are home.

It was a great trip, and as usual everyone got along great. We learned some things about each other, as well as ourselves. Saw some great scenery, and did some great things. Thanks to all for the support, and following the attempt at blogging. Here's to the next trip!

It was a rainy day in Wilmington

The Nacho team managed to visit 2 local areas of interest and we have had an exciting day of ticking items off of the bucket list. Surfing and Shooting Handguns.

We "attempted" to surf, but the conditions were intense and made us very humble. It was a fun, but difficult adventure.

We then proceeded to head to "Shooter's Choice" and fired some real handguns at a shooting range. It was a very interesting and sobering experience.

We have now started the journey home, and have left Wilmington and are spending the night in Smithsville at a KOA, and are going to continue the journey home tomorrow.

Correction.

Correction to the previous post.

We had 4 Half-Iron distance finishers, and 2 Full Iron distance finishers.

Nacho Average Ironmen

Well.. it's over.

The Nacho Average triathlon team made an amazing showing at the inaugural Beach to Battleship Iron Distance Triathlon. It resulted in 4 first-time half iron distance finishers, and 1 full iron distance finisher.
Results are not available yet, and will be posted as soon as we have access.
The day was beautiful, starting out VERY cold in the morning. The swim course was FAST, with the Nacho Athletes posting some IMPRESSIVE swim times (Jane will be shocked).
The bike ride was largely pancake flat, and went through some of the beautiful North Carolina countryside.
The run was also very flat, and went through a variety of locales including a beautiful inter-city park complete with alligators.
The race provider put on an absolutely amazing event. Volunteers and support was strong throughout the course, and everyone was VERY friendly, and supportive.

After a good night sleep everyone is quite sore, and we've started drinking beer at 8am.. so it will be a GOOD day.
Stay tuned for the results.
Here are some pictures from before and after the race.

Pre-race prep

Today is largely been easy going, getting everything ready for race. We have to be at the race site by 5am, so it's going to be an early night, and a REALLY early morning. We went to the pre race meeting in full Nacho regalia, and had a great reception. We were a hit.
Gord parallel parked the RV, but it ended up in us recieving a 20 dollar parking ticket. The price of awesomeness.
Nachooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Good morning!!!

Good morning Nacho fans. Our first night in North Carolina was a success, except that we forgot to turn the heat on, and it dropped to 2 degrees. Thankfully, we were able to use each other's body heat, to survive.

Coffee is on, and there are lots of naked triathletes walking around.

We have arrived!

4:30pm the Nacho team has finally arrived in Wilmington NC. It was a long voyage, and we are glad to be here. We headed straight to the registration center to claim our really nice race kits, and have the athletes kick-off pasta dinner. We rendezvou'd with the other Canadians Steve and Mike.
After the dinner, GORD and his magnificent driving skills got us out of a REALLY tight parking space. We headed to the Wilmington KOA, managed to figure out the hookups, and are now chilling out, having a beer, some showers, and watching Family Guy. Everyone is pretty tired, so it will be an early night I'm sure.
Tomorrow we have to go and set up our transitions, hopefully go for a practice swim in the salt water, and just get ready for Saturday.

Stay Tuned

Beach 2 Battleship 24 days and counting

As most of you know, members of the travelling Nacho Average Triathlon team will be invading Wrightsville Beach North Carolina on Nov. 2, 2008. to participate in the Beach to Battleship Ironman event.

We will be attempting to blog throughout the trip, to keep those Nacho fans up to date on the going ons.

Stay tuned for the live blogging event, starting October 29, 2008.

If all goes well, we hope to look like this after the race.

This is Nacho election

We at the Nacho Average Triathlon team do not represent the beliefs of any political party, therefore the aforementioned "political widget" has been removed.

Having said that, if Steven Harper would give me a lifetime supply of nachos, I could be persuaded.

VIVA LA REVOLUCION

Politics on the blog?

Do we need politics on the blog? Lets keep it to Nachos & beer.
Oh, and triathlon too.
