Meet the Nachos - Steve David
For some people, awesome just comes naturally. Luckily for us, one of those people happens to be Steven David, Nacho Member Extrodinaire.
37 year old Steve, who originally hails from the USA now lives with his wife Avril and 3 sons in Parry Sound, Ontario. Steve is relatively new to the sport of triathlon, having participated in his first race in 2006. He has done many different local races, including 3 half-marathons, and most recently a half-ironman in North Carolina.
Some things you might not know about Steve:
1. He is the resident "gear-head", always game to get the latest and greatest gear... whether it works or not. We tend to use Steve as a guinea pig for items we aren't quite sure are worth the scratch.
2. Nickname is Steve-O
3. Voted most likely to flat on a bike ride, and once even flatted 3 times in one ride.
4. Really like Rickard's White
5. Job on the Nacho Executive is Beer Wench
6. Steve brings the no man left behind attitude from his time served in the US Marines to Nacho events. He'll always pull back to stay with those that get dropped.
Ask any of the Nacho team members who train with Steve, and they will all attest to what a great friend, and team-mate he is. Steve hopes to complete a full-ironman in 2010.
Cheers Steve-O! Nachooooooooooooooooooooooo!
If anyone has any anecdotes about Steve, feel free to comment. Stay tuned for the next edition of Meet the Nachos

This freaked me out!
Hello fellow Nachos! Hope you have all been surviving the winter, damn lot of snow - hoping last year was an outlier but I wonder if we have gotten over this global warming thing and now its back to real winters every year.
You may remember a picture I posted last year, I found it googling for nacho images. You can find the post here:
http://nachoaveragett.blogspot.com/2008/08/nachoman-update.html
Last week I was on holidays and sitting in a restaurant in Tamarindo, Costa Rica enjoying an ice cold cerveza when I looked across the street and spotted this sign....
It seems the sign has a few more miles on it but it is absolutely the exact same one as in the random image i found. What are the odds??
By the way, they're not really as big as your ass.
Would anyone be interested in a Nacho get together within the next month or so? I was thinking a winter sauna and dip with plenty of nachos & beer at my place if people are up for that. With the current excellent ice conditions we could even include run beforehand across otter lake from my place to the Marina and back or something. Its really cool to do this in the winter, and the current conditions are ideal with almost no snow cover on the ice.
I would be happy to do this on Family Day Monday but I realize this is probably way too short notice. Monday will be great because the forecast is great - sunny and close to zero which is awesome for sauna and the ice conditions allow for running (In fact you could probably mtn bike all over the lake right now)
I will keep an eye on the forecast in the upcoming month as we can do this pretty much anytime but a winter sauna is by far the best in sunny weather not much below zero and solid ice.
Cheers,
Tom

Blog Update
Greetings Nacho fans.
Apologies for the lack of updates recently, it's a slow time of year for Nacho activities.
Spring will soon be here, and the blog will be ignited again.
In the meantime look for an upcoming feature I have tentatively entitled "Meet your team-mates". I will spotlight individual Nacho team members in order for people to get to know them a little better.
Stay Tuned...
