100 Push Up Challenge

I have decided to follow the 100 push-up challenge that is outlined at http://hundredpushups.com/

I thought it might be a challenge to try the 100 push up plan this winter.

How many push-ups can you do? Well, right now I can’t do 100, but I plan on trying!

One Hundred Pushups is a site that outlines a six-week training program that claims to have you doing one hundred pushups straight after you’re done. That’s right… a hundred. That’s a lot of freaking push ups!

It all begins with an initial test that calibrates the six week training regimen and each week requires three days of training, which consists strictly of pushups. That’s right, all you do is more and more pushups. After the first two weeks, you take another calibration test similar to the initial test and continue onward. After week four, you take yet another test.

My thought was to get some motivated Nachos to accept the same challenge. We all start at roughly the same time frame(Beginning of December). Then after 6 weeks (2nd or 3rd week in January) we all gather at my place for a final test so to speak. After pushing on the floor there would be customary nacho’s and the drink of your choice.

So how about it? Any takers? It’s a great way to stay in shape.

DR. JONES - NACHO CELEBRITY

This weekend our very own Nacho Celebrity - Dr. Peter Jones, made an appearance on CTV's W5 news program. He was helping with the repair of a black bear's broken leg for the Aspen Valley Wildlife Sanctuary in Rosseau.
He should have worn his Nacho shirt for the episode!

It's a great way to stay in shape

We are home.

It was a great trip, and as usual everyone got along great. We learned some things about each other, as well as ourselves. Saw some great scenery, and did some great things. Thanks to all for the support, and following the attempt at blogging. Here's to the next trip!

It was a rainy day in Wilmington

The Nacho team managed to visit 2 local areas of interest and we have had an exciting day of ticking items off of the bucket list. Surfing and Shooting Handguns.

We "attempted" to surf, but the conditions were intense and made us very humble. It was a fun, but difficult adventure.

We then proceeded to head to "Shooter's Choice" and fired some real handguns at a shooting range. It was a very interesting and sobering experience.

We have now started the journey home, and have left Wilmington and are spending the night in Smithsville at a KOA, and are going to continue the journey home tomorrow.

Correction.

Correction to the previous post.

We had 4 Half-Iron distance finishers, and 2 Full Iron distance finishers.

Nacho Average Ironmen

Well.. it's over.

The Nacho Average triathlon team made an amazing showing at the inaugural Beach to Battleship Iron Distance Triathlon. It resulted in 4 first-time half iron distance finishers, and 1 full iron distance finisher.
Results are not available yet, and will be posted as soon as we have access.
The day was beautiful, starting out VERY cold in the morning. The swim course was FAST, with the Nacho Athletes posting some IMPRESSIVE swim times (Jane will be shocked).
The bike ride was largely pancake flat, and went through some of the beautiful North Carolina countryside.
The run was also very flat, and went through a variety of locales including a beautiful inter-city park complete with alligators.
The race provider put on an absolutely amazing event. Volunteers and support was strong throughout the course, and everyone was VERY friendly, and supportive.

After a good night sleep everyone is quite sore, and we've started drinking beer at 8am.. so it will be a GOOD day.
Stay tuned for the results.
Here are some pictures from before and after the race.

Too tired to post

The 6 Half athletes all finished strong, no results yet. We are headed back to pick up Dave who we believed has finished, and Tim will be along shortly.
